Eric Wong, Ph.D., is the Founder and Principal of Myko Labs, LLC. With over 20 years of experience in wireless technologies—including WLAN, WPAN, and LPWAN—he has led innovations in protocol design, system architecture, product development, and lifecycle management across multiple Fortune 500 companies and a startup.
Throughout his career, Eric has played a pivotal role in bringing wireless products from concept to market. He has pioneered proprietary protocols, algorithms, and system architectures that power industry-leading solutions, including Broadcom Wi-Fi chips, Apple products, Amazon Sidewalk, Amazon Just Walk Out (JWO), and Mimosa Networks' point-to-point fixed wireless solutions.
A recognized leader in wireless standards, Eric has contributed several mandatory MAC features to IEEE 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) and IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6). He also served as the MAC co-chair for the IEEE 802.11ax standards development group and is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Eric holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, a Master of Engineering from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the National University of Singapore—all specializing in wireless networking and communications. He is a named inventor on over 50 U.S. and international patents.
